General CouncilPray for all ministers, elders, other church staff and volunteers as the regular activities of church life close for the summer. Pray for rest and refreshment for all those who have worked hard during the year but do also remember those who will be participating in holiday clubs during the summer months. Training in MinistryPray for the College lecturers and support staff as they each have opportunity for some time off after a busy academic year. Pray for refreshment of body and soul. River House We give thanks for River House, a residential care home in Newcastle, Co Down, and for all who live there as well as those who care for them. Bless each resident with comfort and dignity, with moments of joy, friendship and peace. Strengthen the staff and all who serve in this place. Emergency Services In light of recent unrest in Belfast, let’s give thanks for the emergency services across Ireland. Pray for safety as they do their jobs and give thanks for their willingness to serve others. As we get ready for the summer we also pray for peace across this land. Pray also for the ongoing work of mission pioneer, David Gamble, particularly praying for the weekly outreach hub and upcoming summer activities. Pray for the Leremore family on home assignment over the summer, that they would know God’s refreshing and encouragement. Wycliffe Bible Translators (WBT) Give thanks for the work of WBT as it seeks to serve the local church worldwide by ensuring that Christians have access to the Scriptures in a language that they truly understand and grow in faith, love and service within their communities. Pray for Ricky Ferguson, WBT’s Ireland Team Leader, that he might know God’s encouragement and guidance in his role at this time. Moderator Pray for the service taking place at Enniskillen PC on Sunday afternoon and its minister, Rev Steve Kennedy. The Moderator, Rev Dr Richard Kerr, will be leading the service as the congregation celebrates 350 years of witness in Enniskillen. Give thanks for the ministry and mission of the congregation over that time. Resting in God in worship ‘Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28. Give thanks for Christ’s invitation to find rest in him and ask for his peace to settle on your heart as you worship today. Edwin and Anne Kibathi, global mission workers, London, UK Thank God for his faithfulness, protection and provision for the Kibathi family over the past twenty years and for all those who have supported them with their prayers and resources. Pray that God would continue to sustain and use Edwin and Anne in the work of Christ and his Kingdom. Scripture Union, Malawi (SUM) Continue to remember Maro Chirwa, SUM’s National Director, praying that she would know the Lord’s sustaining grace and wisdom in all she undertakes in her strategic role.
