Pray for the single mothers in the asylum-seeking community as they seek to create a stable environment for their young children while facing many cultural, linguistic, social and practical hurdles.

EQUIP 2024 planning is well underway! Please continue to pray for EQUIP planning, that people would understand their roles and prepare well. Pray for wisdom and clarity in logistics and organisation and that we would depend on God’s plan for the week. Please also pray for students who are considering EQUIP, that finances and placements would not be a barrier to them coming.
Please pray for the second round of relay applications. We praise God for those who applied last round. Please join us in praying for those who are considering applying, that God would grant them wisdom and discernment as they prayerfully consider applying

Let’s Pray For Sylvia Santos-Bryce, deaconess, West Church Ballymena    Give thanks for the support of Sylvia’s family as she serves God in West Church in Ballymena. Pray for the leaders and people who come weekly to Buddies and Bundle (toddlers’ group). Pray for the Proximity Bible reflection groups, that they would continue to be an encouragement to each other and strengthen their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as they reflect on his Word.

Howth and MalahidePray for these congregations, that they will grow deeper in faith together as they meet each week to worship the Lord. Pray also for their minister, Rev Alastair Dunlop, as he continues to serve the Lord.

Let’s Pray For James and Heather Cochrane, global mission workers    Please pray for James and Heather on their time of sabbatical, that this would be a time of rest and refreshment. Pray that they would know the Lord’s leading for their future ministry.

Egypt Conference    Prayer for PCI’s ‘God’s Church in Egypt; Challenges, Calling and Creativity’ conference taking place on Friday 2 February at Assembly Buildings. Pray for all those involved in the preparations, that the Lord will guide them in their decisions. Pray for the guest speaker, Dr Anne Zaki, as she prepares and that she will arrive safely from Egypt.

Let’s Pray For Mental health None of us knows when we or those known to us will suffer poor mental health. Resources are often difficult to source and mental health cases have risen significantly due to financial strain, unemployment, family issues and drug and alcohol misuse. Pray that there will be adequate funding for Health Trusts to provide services in the community. Pray that God will be close to those suffering from depression and other mental health problems. Grant patience and wisdom to families and carers.

Palliative Care Give thanks for those medical staff who provide care to those coming to the end of their life. Pray that in the face of limited resources and mounting pressure to change the law to legalise assisted dying, that they would continue to be able to respond effectively and compassionately to ease pain and suffering.

General CouncilPray for those who work in the Buildings and Conferencing Department in Assembly Buildings. Pray that as they facilitate many external conferences and meetings, their attention and care for those they engage with might be a positive witness.

Training in MinistryThe Linkage Commission meets next Tuesday, 23 January. Pray for the Commission as it seeks to take an overview of the denomination in providing resources for ministry, especially at this time when there are fewer ministers than vacant congregations. Pray too for Rev Ker Graham, its convener.
