“Beside The Burn”, is our daily devotional podcast.
This week we are continuing to think about the message from Sunday - Encounter With God - Responding To God When We Hear His Voice. We will focus our attention on a number of passage where people respond to hearing God speak..

Let’s Pray For Galway – Rev Helen Freeburn Give thanks to the Lord, for his goodness and love, and provision to us. Pray for the church building project, that the Lord would reign over every aspect of this. Pray that the community would continue to grow in commitment, love, in number and outreach. Pray for our elders, leaders and lay preachers, and for more volunteers where needed.

Rachel Cubitt, deaconess, Whiteabbey Give thanks for the weekly groups Rachel serves and leads in Whiteabbey - Girls Association, Friendship Hour & Kids & Co.  Pray for God's blessing on the leaders, girls, women and families who attend. Pray for the Hope Explored course starting in October - that the Lord will draw people closer to him through it.

Let’s Pray For Naomi Keefe, global mission worker, Brazil Give thanks for the encouragements of ‘Reading in the Park’, particularly to see the interest not only from the children but also their parents and guardians. Pray especially that the sticker books being used at the moment would be an effective tool for the sharing of the good news of Jesus Christ amongst all who make use of them.

Leaders in Training (LITs) Give thanks for PCI’s ongoing provision of scholarship funding for partner church leaders in training, especially those who are preparing for roles in mission, ministry and strategic leadership in countries like India and Myanmar where Christians are a small minority, at times persecuted.

Let’s Pray For Carlisle HouseAddiction is an ever-growing problem throughout Ireland. Pray for those suffering, that they may get the right help and support to overcome their addiction problems. Pray for Carlisle House as it provides addiction support. Pray for its service users, that they will use their time in Carlisle House to rebuild their lives and that they will resist the desire to return to their past habits and behaviours.

Poverty Pray for the Department of Communities as they continue to work on the Northern Ireland Anti-Poverty Strategy. Pray for all those struggling and living in poverty across Ireland. Give thanks for organisations like Christians Against Poverty and others who support people overwhelmed by debt and financial challenges. Pray that those who are in difficulty will find ways to access the support they need.

Let’s Pray For Gavin Doyle, community outreach worker, Trinity Cork    Please pray for our English language class ministry and that some of the students would come along to church on Sunday. Pray for the people of Cork as we preach the gospel on the street, that hearts and minds would be opened to God’s Word.

Let’s Pray For Stephen & Angelina Cowan, global mission workers, Kenya    Praise God for the teams who put so much time and effort into the recent junior and senior youth camps as they examined together the theme of ‘Rooted firmly in Christ’. Give thanks that the young people were attentive and disciplined during the engaging teaching sessions. Pray that these camps would bear fruit in the lives of many.  

Presbyterian Church of Myanmar (PCM) The situation in Myanmar continues to worsen, especially in some regions where PCM members are located and facing immense challenges for their daily survival. Pray especially for an end to blockades enforced by the authorities that have been leading to severe shortages of goods, medicines, and electronic supplies.

The puzzle today is of the Beach Huts at Christchurch on the South Coast of England.
No running water or electricity most of the huts cost over £200,000 some as much as £400,000.
