This week we Lent begins and we are going to be using the book “Quietness & Trust” each day to guide our thoughts. Even if you don’t have the book you can still listen each day, but the book will contain additional information including prayers and a pattern of worship to follow each day. There are also songs to listen to each day of Lent. Remember that there will be readings Monday to Saturday each week with a break each Sunday. There are also links below to the previous Blogs this week, so that you and catch up on any that you have missed. Some of our Blog readers spotted this hymn on Tides a couple of weeks ago and suggested that we should try to sing it in church, so that is what we are going to do on Sunday. You can listen to the hymn above and read the words below and practice for Sunday.
He Calls Me Friend V1 I have a friend, a faithful friend And Jesus is His name I have a friend, a Saviour friend And Jesus is His name He will not leave, He stands by me My Shepherd He remains V2 I have a friend, a mighty friend And Jesus is His name I shall not fear, He holds me near His strength will keep me safe CHORUS His name is True King Lord of creation Ruler without end I call Him Hope, Peace, Wonderful Saviour And what joy that Jesus calls me friend! V3 I have a friend, the kindest friend And Jesus is His name He hears my cry, by day or night And wipes my tears away CHORUS His name is True King Lord of creation Ruler without end I call Him Hope, Peace, Wonderful Saviour And what joy that Jesus calls me friend! V4 I have a friend, a Saviour friend And Jesus is His name He fought for me on Calvary And trampled on the grave! CHORUS His name is True King Lord of creation Ruler without end I call Him Hope, Peace, Wonderful Saviour And what joy that Jesus calls me friend! CHORUS His name is True King Lord of creation Ruler without end I call Him Hope, Peace, Wonderful Saviour And what joy that Jesus calls me friend!
