Annual Prayer Breakfast - 14 June 2014,
Wellington Presbyterian Church, BallymenaThis year we are holding our Prayer Breakfast on Saturday 14 June at Wellington Presbyterian Church, Sourhill Road, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, BT42 2NB. The morning will start at 9.00am with breakfast and finish after a time of prayer around 11.00am.
The Prayer Breakfast is open to everyone who has an interest in praying for the ministry of New Horizon and we would love to see you there. Whether you are currently involved in New Horizon or not, you are welcome to come and join us.
We are excited about the plans that are in place for New Horizon 2014 and this is an important event in the build up to NH2014. As part of the morning Bishop Ken Clarke will be speaking and we will hear some of the plans for this year.
Drop us an email firstname.lastname@example.org or give Shirley a call, 028 2955 7157, to confirm your attendance.
Volunteer and be part of the TeamWe are currently trying to increase our team of volunteers for this year. We need more stewards for the main pavilion and to cover car park duty. We also need people to help out with general administrative duties during the week.
If you can spare any time during the event to help out in these areas, that would be much appreciated. Please contact the office for more details or register via the website www.newhorizon.org.uk/get-involved/. Full training will be given during the week.
To see what is involved, have a look at our volunteering videohttp://vimeo.com/86023215. You'll see some people like you have never seen them before!
Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award ResidentialEach year we have a team of volunteers who come as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award scheme. We still have a number of opportunities to be part of that team for this year. The Residential takes place the week before New Horizon. This year it runs from Monday 28 July to Saturday 2 August. Below is the Spring/Summer Prayer Update from Adam McCready
PORTUGALJames and Heather Cochrane send the following prayer points:-
Africa: Feba are in the early stages of exploring a possible community-centred radio initiative in Rwanda, focusing on peace and reconciliation. Discussions are taking place with a potential partner who has already an established healing and reconciliation ministry, plus producing audio materials for churches. Please pray for Feba’s International Partnership Team as they decide whether this partnership and project is right for Feba.
Asia: Feba’s new medium wave Pashto broadcasts to Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and northwest India continue to receive high levels of response. Praise and thank God that a temporary follow-up worker has now been employed to speak with the many listeners calling into the station. Pray for Feba’s partners, as they find long-term solutions to follow-up for the programmes.
Middle East: Please continue to pray for the Syrian people, who are struggling to survive amidst the chaos of this terrible conflict. Pray for Feba’s Hope for Syriaradio broadcasts aimed at providing help and support to the millions of displaced persons and refugees, living in Syria and neighbouring countries. New management is needed for this project, so please pray that a committed and cost effective partner will emerge that will take this project forward over the next year.
