Let’s Pray For Moderator
Pray for a growing vision for outreach across the Presbyterian Church, especially that congregations will be able to speak clearly about the Good News at a time of great uncertainty about the future.  Give thanks for the good resources produced by the church centrally to help with this.


Peter & Jayne Fleming (Nepal)  
Pray for the people of Nepal where Covid-19 cases have been rising sharply. Pray the government will accept the new five-year agreement for UMN and for expat staff to be able to get work visas.


Indonesia
Pray for Timor, Sumba and nearby islands which were hit by Tropical Cyclone Seroja at Easter. Pray for all affected and for our partners, the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor and the Christian Church in Sumba, as they help those who are grieving and those who suffered damage to their homes, crops, livelihoods, etc. ​

This week we begin a new series “How do we cope with James?” This week we ask “How do we cope with ... Speaking?” We all face difficulties in life and James has some great advice.

The Gospel Coalition have produced a playlist of 100 songs inspired by the book of James, and I intend to share some of those songs each day on the Blog, but you can listen to the full playlist during the next few weeks as we continue our studies in this book. I have benefited greatly from listening to these songs over and over again as I have asked God to speak from His word.

Let’s Pray For Social Witness
Pray for the work and witness of the Disability Services Committee as they oversee the work of Willow Brook, Aaron House, Lawnfield and Peacehaven. Pray for the residents and tenants as they adjust to new freedoms within the new guidelines.


Victims and Survivors 
Pray for those who have been impacted by the conflict in Northern Ireland and for whom public discussions about dealing with the past trigger painful and distressing memories. Pray that they would know the reality of the peace and comfort that comes from God.   


General Council
Pray for the meeting of the Irish Inter Church Committee (IICC) taking place during the
incoming week.  This is the forum where the IICC’s denominations meet with representatives of the Bishops’ Conference to discuss issues of mutual concern.


Linkage Commission 
The Commission is due to meet on 25 and 26 May, with up to eight vacant congregations seeking permission to call a minister. Give thanks that the easing of Covid-19 restrictions now make it easier for congregations to hear and call a minister, and pray that the Lord will give wisdom to the Commission as they consider requests, and seek the upbuilding of the Lord’s Church.

– Continue to pray for the follow up from Ulster University Jordanstown CU online events week ‘Searching’ in March. Pray for the conversations that people had with their friends, and for everyone who is receiving and reading Uncover John with the CU, that they would find life and joy in the person of Jesus.
– Pray for UCCCU as they alternate between social events and outward–looking talks over this term. Pray that they would be able to build community despite the online format.

Pray for Rev Dave Gray at Queen’s University Belfast and Derryvolgie Halls and Revs Cheryl Meban, John Coulter and Graeme Orr at the various campuses of Ulster University as they continue to support students and staff during Covid-19 restrictions. Pray for students preparing for and sitting exams.


Prison Chaplains
