Today we end the week with a novel way of sharing the gospel using flags.
Let’s Pray For Social Witness
As the new school year begins, pray for children and young people who are experiencing bullying, for strength not to give in and to always tell a trusted adult. Pray especially for those targeted by bullies online.
On These Steps
Today a special event takes place at Union Theological College marking the role it played in hosting the first NI Parliament 100 years ago. Pray that those who attend and watch online would have an opportunity to reflect on our shared past and also be enabled to look forward with Christian hope to a shared future across these islands.
Pray for the Clerk, Deputy Clerk and all the staff in the General Secretary’s Department as
they make final preparations for the General Assembly. Pray especially that there will be time for the necessary precautions in what is a very busy autumn period in church life.
Council for Training in Ministry
The Auxiliary Ministry Scheme training course that started in Jan 2020, has been completed, after a Covid-19 delay, with the Service of Accreditation tomorrow night. Give thanks for the nine trainees. Pray that Auxiliary Ministry posts will be created in congregations, and that the Lord will use them to build his Church.
“Reading Between The Lines” a series working through the bible looking at the well known phrases.
Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Proverbs (5 minute video)
Paul Trip is releasing a series of short videos on the book of Proverbs. Each video is about 5 minutes long and is well worth listening to. I will include the videos on the Blog over the next few weeks.
Guests at this Friday’s centenary event ‘On These Steps’ will be treated to the premier of a specially commissioned song by the Belfast-based indie singer-songwriter, Ferna. The Presbyterian Church in Ireland's (PCI) livestreamed event, to mark the part played by PCI's Union Theological College in hosting the first Parliament of Northern Ireland 100 years ago, also marks the centenary of the creation of Northern Ireland and the partition of Ireland, recognising the diversity of views around this significant anniversary.
Watch The Livestream of this event at www.presbyterianireland.org from 2pm
“King of Kings” was performed live at TGC’s 2021 National Conference by Davy Flowers, Bethany Barnard, and Shane & Shane of The Worship Initiative.
Gideon (30 minute audio)
What did Gideon think of himself? Why was it unnecessary for him to repeatedly ask for signs that God was in control? Listen to this episode of Bible Biogs in 30 Minutes to find out.
"Wisdom is the information that God supplies turned to action." —Alistair Begg
Many of us try to handle life’s trials in our own strength. We struggle to find answers based on what we know instead of asking God for what we need. What are we missing, and how can we get it? Find out on Truth For Life with Alistair Begg.
The times for yesterday’s Jigsaw
Something a little more challenging for the weekend. This path has been closed this week for repairs and the installation of a new diving board, so enjoy the puzzle.
