This week we continue our series Finding Jesus! We are going to the Old Testament into the book of Genesis to Find Jesus at Babel, as we discover Jesus in places we never noticed before. Something a little different for Friday but still keeping on the Theme of Babel.
Let’s Pray For Social Witness
Pray for our work in Disability Services, Older People Services, Taking Care and Specialist Services – for the ongoing protection of our residents and tenants, staff and volunteers. Pray that we will be able to recruit staff to fill the vacancies in our teams. Give thanks that we have had long periods of being Covid-19 free.
Pray for those who work in the health and social care sector and feel under increasing pressure due to the continued effects of Covid-19, and the onset of annual winter pressures. Pray for wisdom and guidance for those making decisions in response to these challenges.
Pray for all in Assembly Buildings next week as they make final preparations in the week preceding the start of General Assembly. Pray that all the necessary preparations will go well to ensure a safe environment for all attending and for the various departments (IT, Conference & Facilities and CPD) and the staff members responsible for logistics and technical input.
Council for Training in Ministry
Two student deaconesses have recently begun a 3-year training programme at Union – Heather Healy and Cathy Smith. Pray for Heather and Cathy as they begin study, and settle into congregational placements in Wellington Ballymena and Whiteabbey respectively. Ask God to equip them for service in his Church.

Proverbs (5 minute video)

Sir David Suchet reads John’s Gospel. As one person has commented, “ He reads this Gospel as if he is there on the scene, as if it is happening in real life, every word and sentence has it’s right tone. It is captivating.”
