Yesterday I received an email which contained the following -
We can’t control what’s happening on the national and international scene. But we can control our reaction to it all.

It also contained this quote from Martin Luther concerning The Black Plague Death of his day. They also mostly apply right now.
“I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me however I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely as stated above. See this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.” - Martin Luther

Let’s Pray - These three remain…”
These three remain…” is an initiative of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland to draw congregations and their members together in God to express his life and witness in this moment. Content will also appear on the PCI website and social media in the coming days to resource the church for its continuing ministry and mission.

Today in Let’s Pray Rev. Colin Morrison writes -
While the media drip feeds its message of doom and disaster, I’m reminded that Christian hope takes me beyond that, not pretending that the situation isn’t serious, but not losing my nerve either. This barren wilderness will give way. As the LORD said to his people long ago in gloomy times, “the desert and the parched land will be glad, the wilderness will rejoice and blossom” (Isaiah 35:1).

Keswick
If you would like something to watch today, how about a concert recorded in the town of Keswick at the convention. I was there one night when Phil Moore and Colin Webster led the praise in July 2019, however I didn’t attend this concert and haven’t watched it all, but you can enjoy it here. You could even listen to it while you do some things around the house.

Day 27 - Trypraying 2020
Although the theme for today is all about taking initiative in serving God, While I was reading the verses from Jeremiah,
The word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.’ ‘Jeremiah 1:4

I was reminded how God knows us before we are born, he knows all that will happen to us. He knows all about the Corona Virus and therefore He can be trusted.
