Beside The Burn
A short devotional video each week day.
Let’s Pray For Specialist Services
Pray for Rev John Stanbridge and the Specialist Services Committee. Pray for Thompson House, David Farrow (Director) and his committed staff, who work alongside men released on license from prison. Pray for Carlisle House, David Cuthbert (Director) and his dedicated staff as they work with those struggling with addiction. Pray for wise counsel for staff to be able to relate to each resident on an individual basis in light of their personal circumstances. Remember Gray’s Court, managed by Frances Craig and her staff, pray that the service will be well utilised by those continuing to recover from addiction issues. Retail Pray for those who work in retail, from the big supermarkets to small independent shops. Pray for their protection in the busy run up to Christmas and that God would grant them grace, patience and stamina as they work long hours and serve customers who may be experiencing their own hassles and stress. General Council Pray for the meeting of the Irish Council of Churches Executive Committee that takes place next Thursday 3 November. Remember PCI’s representatives in particular – Rev Helen Freeburn (Church Relations convener), Rev Trevor Gribben (Clerk) and Rev Dr Paul Bailie. Training in Ministry This coming week is the mid-point of the semester in Union College. It is marked by the pausing of classes and students having a reading week. This is an important time for students to study, both to catch up and to prepare for future assignments. Pray that the Lord would enable them to use this time profitably for their preparation for ministry. |

Despite the risks, Abdullah chose to stay in the country, where he continues to carefully share Isa with others. READ THE FULL REPORT HERE |
J.John shared this news this week - Jennifer Rees Larcombe 1942–2022
The passing of Jennifer Rees Larcombe on the the 24th October 2022 will have come as a sad loss to the many thousands of people who were challenged and helped by her unique speaking and writing ministry. I share that sorrow, deepened by the fact that I had the privilege of being linked by marriage: Jen was my wife’s godmother, and her father, Tom Rees, my wife’s great-uncle.
