Over the past weeks we have been experiencing a lifestyle very different from ever before!
We are fully aware of the changes which lockdown has made to our daily routine, and we have had to adapt in so many ways. Initially, most of us may have felt insecurity and anxiety.
However, in my experience, folk rallied round. With new and impending regulations to deal with, we were blessed with the support and offers of help which we received from friends and neighbours…. phone calls, texts, emails and, of course, those little WhatsApp communications which made us smile! There was a sense of ‘We’re all in this together.’
Now, conversely, at present we may be feeling anxious as rules are being relaxed.
‘Is it too soon?’ ‘What will happen if…..?’
In Philippians 4 v 12-13 we read:
12. ‘I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.’
In Verse 13 Paul makes known the source of his strength. Let’s listen to the familiar Hymn for today:

Let’s Pray For - Children and young people
Pray for children who have known enormous disruption to family, school and social life, asking that God would restore peace of heart and mind in the gradual restoration of normal routines. Pray for young people who have been unnaturally isolated from friends through lockdown and whose education has been interrupted, asking that God would give resilience and strength. |
Saint Catherine's Monastery
I never knew this place existed but came across it this week. It is a little Greek Orthodox Monastery at the foot of Mount Sinai which contains one of the oldest libraries in the world. Lessons We Are Learning In Lockdown

It’s hard to believe, but when 2020 began less than six months ago most of us had never heard of coronavirus, probably weren’t sure what a pandemic was, had never made a Zoom call and certainly could not have imagined what church life without meeting together would look like. Opposition leader Lazarus Chakwera has won Malawi's latest presidential race, defeating incumbent Peter Mutharika with 58.57% of the vote.
