Today we come to verse 5 and rather than finding a shepherd we meet God as a host who is preparing a banquet.

A huge thank you to Ruth and Rea for once again providing the flower arrangements for our Burnside At Home services. They know the areas where I record the services and when I go up to the church building all the arrangements are in place. You will see all these flowers in the background on Sunday, but I took a few photographs this week to give you a little preview. Of course many of you will know that I am allergic to many flowers so all of the arrangements are very thoughtfully artificial.
This is a fascinating edition of the Podcast giving insight into the working of PCI behind the scenes during the Pandemic. Lockdown has turned lives, jobs, churches and even the General Assembly upside down. In this episode of These Three Remain, the new Moderator Rev Dr David Bruce, Rev Trevor Gribben (Clerk of General Assembly) and Rev David Thompson (Secretary of the Council for Congregational Life & Witness) join Rick Hill to discuss how COVID-19 has impacted their work.

In a statement PCI has thanked MLAs from across the political spectrum who supported a motion rejecting the imposition of abortion legislation extending to all non-fatal disabilities, including Down’s syndrome:

In this short book, Dr. Lizzie Ling and Vaughan Roberts survey the Christian worldview and help us to engage with the people, the questions and the heartache surrounding abortion, in a society with very different world views.
‘I wish I'd had this book years ago! We all feel lost or overwhelmed when it comes to thinking and talking about the topic of Abortion and this short book is the perfect starting point. As someone who has experienced a pregnancy crisis, I often cringe when I read some Christian resources out there but this writing is nothing but gentle and compassionate - whilst also shedding light on a very complex issue. I especially love the practical focus on how we can respond and walk alongside those who are facing real, messy and painful situations. Thank you Dr. King. I will be giving this book to everyone’.

The Bible society commented this week, “A picture of the Bible has flashed all around the world. It’s on every news channel and in every newspaper.” This is a thought provoking article about the power of the word of God and how each of us misuse the bible at our peril.

You had to go a little further afield for the Where Is It? yesterday, all the way over to the seafront, Ballycastle. Wilma says it is “The children of Lir Ballycastle”. I always referred to this as the flying geese in Ballycastle, so I am away to brush up on my Irish mythology.
So Where Is It today?
