This week we continue our series Finding Jesus! We are going to the Old Testament into the book of Genesis to Find Jesus in the life of Abraham, as we discover Jesus in places we never noticed before.
Let’s Pray For Global Mission
Pray for wisdom and guidance as important decisions are made regarding our church’s work and witness globally at the General Assembly today. Pray too for the Listening to the Global Church presentation to the Assembly tomorrow (Wednesday at 2pm) that our church will be challenged by our global partners. Congregational Life and Witness Pray for the work of the Council for Congregational Life and Witness whose report comes to the General Assembly this evening, asking that God would continue to enable it to be nimble in responding to the needs of congregations as they emerge from the shadow of the pandemic. |

Q. What Should We Pray?
A. The whole Word of God directs and inspires us in what we should pray, including the prayer Jesus himself taught us.

Truth For Life
To fear God is to know God, love God, serve God, obey God. The apostle Paul ended his second letter to Timothy knowing that death was near. But he didn’t dread his departure. In fact, he looked forward to where he was going—and who he would see. Can we say the same? Charles Spurgeon
It comes as a surprise to some that Charles Spurgeon had a lifelong battle with depression. His reputation as a famed and powerful preacher, his cheery wit, and his cigar-smoking manliness might lead us to imagine there could never be a chink in his Victorian Englishman’s armor. It shouldn’t be a surprise, of course: being full of life in a fallen world must mean distress, and Spurgeon’s life was indeed full of physical and mental pain.
