Stewarding For New Horizon
Message from James McConkey,
I am the Stewarding Team lead for New Horizon.  I am getting in touch on behalf of New Horizon to ask for your help in recruiting volunteer stewards for this year's event at Ulster University, Coleraine.
Each year, stewards play a vital role in helping New Horizon run safely and smoothly. They are often the first people attendees meet and help create a welcoming environment for everyone who comes along. Their responsibilities include welcoming attendees, assisting with directions, helping manage venues, and supporting the wider stewarding team throughout the week.
We would be grateful if your church could help us by promoting this opportunity within your congregation. We are aiming to recruit around five volunteers from each church in the area who would be willing to serve during the event week.  This could be helping at the morning bible readings or during the evening celebrations.  The best thing about stewarding is that you help while also still being in the Big Blue Tent and enjoy the various sessions.
No previous experience is required. All volunteers will be invited to attend a short online training session before the event, where we will explain the role and cover key health and safety information.  There will also be some training on Saturday 1st August at the New Horizon site where we will carryout a walkaround of the venues and facilities.  We will share some food and prayer together as well.  This provides an opportunity to meet the team, become familiar with the site, and prepare for the week ahead.
If anyone from your congregation would like to volunteer or find out more, please ask them to contact the Stewarding Team at:
[email protected] or call James on 07539819991

EASTER STORY TRAIL
Don’t forget our Easter Story Trail along Portstewart Promenade.
During the Easter Holidays you can follow our Interactive trail and discover the story of Easter.
This has been organised by the two Presbyterian Churches in the Town,
The story trail involves finding 5 posters in the shop windows along the Promenade, and each poster tells part of the Easter story from a different perspective.
Beginning with Peter you simply scan the QR code on the poster with your phone, click the link, allow permissions and then point your phone at the picture on the poster and a short video will play.
After Peter you are looking for Pilate and there are 5 different parts of the story to collect.
We hope that you enjoy the story trail and once you have completed it join us on Sunday, as we celebrate that Jesus Christ is Risen.

ROAD TO THE CROSS

LENT
This year for Lent we are going to travel with Jesus on The Road To The Cross through the Gospel according to Luke. We will be using a book by Sinclair Ferguson - To Seek And To Save - Daily Reflections On The Road To The Cross. A few books are still available on Sunday at a cost of £6.
If you won’t be in Burnside books can be ordered from

SCAMWISE - Another Reminder
Please be aware that there are many email based scams doing the rounds at the moment.
As a church we will NEVER ask you to send money or vouchers via text or email. If you do receive such communication please ignore it or report it. If we ever do present a financial need the safest way of giving to the church is through Free Will Offering on a Sunday.

Considering Lament
Thursday 26 March 2026 | 7-9pm
Assembly Buildings, Belfast
In 2019, PCI’s Considering Grace project shared powerful first‑hand stories from those affected by the Troubles. PCI’s Peace and Reconciliation Panel has created eight new congregational Psalm settings, each accompanied by prayers to help God’s people bring their hurts and hopes before him.
The evening will include singing all eight new Psalms and hearing insights from those involved in their composition. Booklets will be available to take home for congregational use.
Worship leaders, singers, musicians and all interested members are warmly encouraged to attend.
To find out more about the event and to register please click here.

With warmest Greetings In Christ,

Richard
