Let’s Pray For Cost of Living  As families begin to get organised for Christmas, pray that those on low incomes will not get themselves into debt. Pray for those who are in food and fuel poverty, that they may find the support they need. Pray that we will continue to respond generously to foodbanks and appeals from charities. Give thanks for Christian organisations, such as Christians Against Poverty (CAP), that assist those who are struggling. 

Policing       The advert for a new permanent chief constable was due to close on 16 October. Pray for wisdom for those involved in the recruitment, selection and appointment to this position.

Let’s Pray For Church Planting Taster Day  Pray for the Church Planting Taster Day happening on Saturday 21 October in Central Church. Pray for those who attend, that they would be encouraged and inspired by what they hear.

St Columba’s, LisburnPray for the youth club starting back in November, pray for the leadership and volunteers. Give thanks for the evening praise service for youth meeting first Sunday in the month in partnership with another church in the Lisburn area (cross denominational).

Let’s Pray For Volker and Jinhyeog Glissmann, global mission workers, Southern Africa  Give thanks for God’s guidance and preparation for the TEE meetings in Nairobi to do with publishing material. Pray that the outcomes of these meetings would glorify God. Continue to pray for the whole Glissmann family, for their health and protection.

Moderator “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1.
The Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Samuel Mawhinney, will be participating in and thanking God for the harvest in Bushmills. Let us pray for our farming communities, our rural chaplain, Rev Kenny Hanna, and his team, and all of us as we seek to care for the world God has created.

The prayer points for this week.


15th-21st Oct
Pray for UUC CU as they host an event based on the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4 as part of their ‘Uncover John’ theme for the year. Pray that it would be a launch pad for seekers and sceptics to engage in the Uncover resource and studies with their Christian friends.
Pray for DCU CU as they focus on the title, “where is Jesus when there is suffering” in their weekly cu meeting (17th Oct). Pray that this would be engaging amongst their friends and peers. 
Pray for the launching of The Philip Project in Belfast on 21st October, a Friends International discipleship ministry to help international Christian students become confident and equipped to share God’s word and serve the local church.

Maynooth      Pray that the congregation of Maynooth would know Jesus deeply in their lives and make him known widely in their community. Remember also the work progressing on their new building.
