Beside The Burn
We continue in Paul’s letter to the Philippians - Finding Joy Right Here. Paul reminds us that we are citizens of Heaven but we still have to live right here everyday as disciples of Jesus Christ. Each day we have a short devotional video based on some verses from the letter.

Let’s Pray For ModeratorAs the Platinum Jubilee of the reign of The Queen is marked throughout the United Kingdom in coming days, we give thanks for her godly influence as Head of State. Similarly, we pray for the President of Ireland, and all those in elected office in both jurisdictions on this island.

Answering God’s invitation to worship Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28.
Ask God to help us come just as we are to him in worship and find his rest and peace in believing.

Gary and Mary Reid (global mission workers, Kenya)

Pray for Gary and Mary and their ongoing mission within Maasailand. Give thanks for the many practical ways through which they show God’s love to others. Pray that God’s Holy Spirit will work mightily in the lives of the Maasai people.

Afghanistan  Pray for the people of Afghanistan, especially those struggling to afford enough food and other basic necessities. Pray too for our partners Christian Aid Ireland and Tearfund helping those in need.

Facing the Canon (30 minute video)
This week on Facing the Canon, J.John speaks with Rachel Mackenzie, an inspirational woman who, having had two abortions herself, is now supporting others who have had similar experiences. Rachel describes her experiences of abuse, abortion and grief, and explains how she discovered hope, healing and forgiveness through the work of Rachel's Vineyard.

Plans
This song appeared on Spotify the other day and I thought I would share it with you. It is about being open to the plans that God has for us.

Truth For Life
"God's word encourages us to remember that Christian faith is an enduring faith that remains resolute. It is possible to remain obedient to God's commands even when everything around us seems to contradict what He has promised." —Alistair Begg Devotion:

Female Disciples?
Did Jesus have female disciples. Yes, he did. And they didn’t simply perform domestic tasks.

Let’s Pray For Taking Care   Within PCI we have the privilege of caring for thousands of children in all of our organisations. We give thanks for the Taking Care office who seek to ensure best practice and standards of excellence within our congregations. Pray for Cathy Mullin as she deals with Access NI/Garda Vetting and enquiries. Give thanks for the dedication of Jacqui Montgomery-Devlin, Head of Safeguarding, as she advises and guides ministers and church leaders.

Legacy As discussions continue about legislative proposals to deal with the past, pray for those who find these distressing and painful. Pray that they would find comfort and rest in Christ, particularly when decisions made compound grief and suffering.

General Council

Take time to give thanks to the Lord for the faithful and devoted service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as the United Kingdom celebrates her Platinum Jubilee during this incoming week. Ask God to continue to bless Her Majesty at this time of celebration in the days ahead.

Training in MinistryMinistry students begin summer placements this month, serving full-time in congregations until September. For some, this will be their first experience of full-time ministry. For others, it will involve ministry in an unfamiliar context. Pray that students will learn, be shaped in character, and that the Lord will bless their service.

Diane Cusick
“I am getting in touch to ask you to pray for Diane Cusick, PCI’s Global Mission Worker with CCAP Zambia Synod, who is currently here in Northern Ireland on home assignment.

Over this past weekend Diane became unwell and was admitted to hospital. Unfortunately over the past 24 hours she has become seriously ill. We would be very grateful if you would remember Diane at this time, praying that she would make a full recovery and for those treating her."

Yours in Christ

Woman At The Well
I heard a story from the Bible

When I was just a little girl
About a broken-hearted woman
Who met the Savior of the world

Thought it was just another story
One that the preacher man would read
But as I'm sitting here at home
Drinking red wine all alone
I think that woman might be me
Here is the testimony and story behind the song

This episode was recorded at the church planting conference, ‘A time to plant’, organised by the Council for Mission in Ireland that took place earlier in May in Dundalk. The conversation captures much of the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit of the day including some short reflections from a few individuals as well as an interview with keynote speaker Scotty Smith from Nashville Tennesse, and Tom Gilliam who is the co-convener of PCI’s Church Planting Panel.

Pray for Change
There are so many ways that we can foster a hunger for Jesus, but the most important and primary thing is to be praying for the Holy Spirit to change our hearts, because we're just fully dependent on the Spirit to bring that hunger and sanctify it.
Amy DiMarcangelo is the author of A Hunger for More: Finding Satisfaction in Jesus When the Good Life Doesn’t Fill You And she talks about her book in the video below and click the link above to find out more about the book.

Lord, Teach Us to Pray
Kevin DeYoung talks about our common struggle to pray and how the Lord's Prayer—the prayer that Jesus offered as a model for our prayers—can help us to pray to God day in and day out.

Ulster University, Jordanstown campus is dissolving at the end of this semester. There will be an event in June to look back on Jordanstown CU and give thanks for its ministry on campus, whilst also looking forward to the future and the opportunities God will provide for students as they move to the Magee or Belfast campuses.
Pray for new CU leaders as they navigate this transition period and adjust to their new campuses, especially after the past two years of disruptions.
Pray that the CUs at Ulster University – Magee and Belfast – and their campuses are blessed by this change and that God will minister to any students who might be worried about the move. Pray that the CU committees might be able to use their passion for the gospel to think creatively and carefully as to how best to reach these new groups of students.
