We give thanks for the Taking Care office who seek to ensure best practice and standards of excellence within our congregations. Pray for Cathy Mullin as she deals with Access NI/Garda Vetting and enquiries. Give thanks for the dedication of Jacqui Montgomery-Devlin, Head of Safeguarding, as she advises and guides ministers and church leaders.

Legacy As discussions continue about legislative proposals to deal with the past, pray for those who find these distressing and painful. Pray that they would find comfort and rest in Christ, particularly when decisions made compound grief and suffering.

General Council

Take time to give thanks to the Lord for the faithful and devoted service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as the United Kingdom celebrates her Platinum Jubilee during this incoming week. Ask God to continue to bless Her Majesty at this time of celebration in the days ahead.

Training in MinistryMinistry students begin summer placements this month, serving full-time in congregations until September. For some, this will be their first experience of full-time ministry. For others, it will involve ministry in an unfamiliar context. Pray that students will learn, be shaped in character, and that the Lord will bless their service.

Woman At The Well
I heard a story from the Bible

When I was just a little girl
About a broken-hearted woman
Who met the Savior of the world

Thought it was just another story
One that the preacher man would read
But as I'm sitting here at home
Drinking red wine all alone
I think that woman might be me
Here is the testimony and story behind the song

Pray for Change
There are so many ways that we can foster a hunger for Jesus, but the most important and primary thing is to be praying for the Holy Spirit to change our hearts, because we're just fully dependent on the Spirit to bring that hunger and sanctify it.

Pray for new CU leaders as they navigate this transition period and adjust to their new campuses, especially after the past two years of disruptions.
Pray that the CUs at Ulster University – Magee and Belfast – and their campuses are blessed by this change and that God will minister to any students who might be worried about the move. Female Bravery and the Mission of God.
Jen Wilkin spoke at TGC’s 2021 National Conference on the topic of “Female Bravery and the Mission of God.”
Walking through Scripture, Wilkin relayed stories of women who feared God rather than men and stood against the Serpent, risking their very lives. The imagery revealed in the stories, she taught, is the metaphor necessary for the modern church to understand in order to also be shrewd as a serpent and innocent as a dove—overcoming the enemy that wages war against our very souls.
