Let’s Pray For Illness and bereavement
Pray for those in our families and friendship circles who have suffered sudden illness recently. Give thanks for the NHS and healthcare professionals, including paramedics and rapid response teams, who are often heroes in emergency situations. Pray also for those known to us who are bereaved and coping with grief. As they mourn a loved one, pray that they will know God’s presence and comfort.
Debt
Give thanks for organisations like Christians Against Poverty and others who support people overwhelmed by debt and financial challenges. Pray that those who are in difficulty will find ways to access the support they need.
General Council
In advance of the General Assembly meetings beginning on Thursday 20 June, please remember in prayer the Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Sam Mawhinney and the Moderator-Designate, Rev Dr Richard Murray as they prepare in heart and mind. Please also remember the Assembly Buildings staff who, in the coming days, will be working hard making practical preparations to enable General Assembly to run smoothly.
Training in Ministry
Give thanks that our two student deaconesses, Heather Healy and Cathy Smith, have satisfactorily completed their training and have been approved for deployment. Pray that God will guide and use Heather and Cathy in the days ahead.
